Pasang: In the Shadow of Everest is an Official Selection of the 22nd Annual Nevada City Film Festival 2022, in Nevada City, CA.

WINNER! Pasang: In the Shadow of Everest won the Audience Award! The film played an Encore at the end of the festival for a Best of the Fest screening.

Thank you Nevada City Film Festival, audiences, programmers, and everyone who worked so hard to present an incredible festival — we are overjoyed to win the Audience Award and to be honored alongside such incredible films.

Pasang: In the Shadow of Everest premiered in Vermont as an Official Selection of the 8th Annual Middlebury New Filmmaker Festival (2022) in Middlebury, Vermont, and went on to screen during the 2023 Vermont Tour.

WINNER! Pasang: In the Shadow of Everest won three awards at the 2022 Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival in the following categories:

Audience Award – Feature
AICEF Prize for Cross-Culture Filmmaking
Olio Visualizing History Prize for the Advancement of Women in Film

It’s been an amazing summer and as we head into a busy, bountiful fall with more news coming, we want take a moment and thank the incredible programmers, patrons, partners, volunteers and audiences who made the Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival such an unforgettable experience for Nancy Svendsen and our team representing Pasang Movie! The energy and reception we found for this documentary and the story of one woman’s inspiring quest for the world’s tallest mountain will stay with us! Thank you Lloyd Komesar for honoring this film and to those who graced the film with these awards.

The film won an Honorable Mention Jury Award for Documentary Feature

We capped off our time at the Bentonville Film Festival by receiving an Honorable Mention in the Documentary Feature category, and we couldn’t be more honored! Still thinking about what a wonderful time we had in Bentonville—a huge thank you to the Bentonville Film Festival for your Southern hospitality and generous support of PASANG and our team (and the great pictures ) Director, Nancy Svendsen was there to collect the award, following a weekend of showings, watching other great films, meeting filmmakers and industry individuals, and participating on panels like the “If She Can See It, She Can Be It” panel with Geena Davis. Great memories made at the festival!
